Akinola is married to Ayo-ola and they have 3 children and a grandchild.
Akinola is passionate about seeing people discover and fulfil who they are in The Body of Christ.
Ayo-ola Smith - Leader
Ayo-ola longs to see each and everyone who belongs to the family of our Lord Jesus experience the truth of the gospel at work in their lives daily according to John 10v10 – ‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly’. She desires to see the true love of God at work in each and everyone of us. ‘But the greatest of these is love’ 1corinth 13v13.
She will often welcome you with a hug!!
Rosemarie Troughear - Leader
Rosemarie is married to John and they have 3 children and 4 granddaughters.
She has a burning desire for the Church to walk in the fulness of what Jesus died for on the cross. She has a passion for prophetic prayer and establishing prayer alters individually and corporately. She regularly teaches the word at Oasis.
John Troughear
John is married to Rosemarie. He is a percussionist who is passionate about Spirit-led worship, with good quality music which glorifies God. He leads the worship team at Oasis.
Our purposes
Our main aim is to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, develop them to Christ like maturity, and equip them for their ministry in the church and mission in the world, in order to magnify God’s name.
We like to split this into five different purposes which are based on two scriptures:
Matthew 22 v37-
Matthew 28 v19-
- WORSHIP “love the Lord your God with all your heart”
- MINISTRY “love your neighbour as yourself”
- EVANGELISM “go and make disciples”
- FELLOWSHIP “baptising them” (becoming part of the body of Christ-
belonging.) - DISCIPLESHIP “teaching them to obey”
These purposes are also found in Acts 2 v42-
Oasis Family Church meets in Ceewood Hall, Witney and we aim to bring God’s presence and kingdom principles into our lives and community. The meetings are informal and geared to the whole family, lasting about an hour and a half, including worship and personal stories of what God has done in our lives.
We are seeking to reach totally unchurched people by involvement in the community. Most people have come to the services by personal invitation from friends but anyone who wants to meet with our life transforming God is very welcome to join us.
Our first meeting in a home consisted of seven adults. These adults had a total of 9 children interested in coming to church.
